Hillary Clinton opens about the gutsy decision to stay in her marriage in new docuseries
In the Apple TV+ docuseries Gusty, Secretary Hillary Clinton and her co-host, daughter Chelsea Clinton, travel around the world interviewing other inspiring and change-making women. The ongoing fight for women’s rights has never felt more urgent, and the series tackles the personal and public battles that women fight every day. Over 8 episodes, the duo sits down with reverends, firefighters, activists and mothers. There’s also plenty of star power from celebs like Amy Schumer, Kim Kardashian, Gloria Steinem, and Amber Ruffin. “We view gusty as those core values that people need to have — resilience, determination, persistence, courage — to get through life, to get up when you’re knocked down to deal with the setbacks and disappointments of any life,” says Clinton. The series, which is based their New York Times bestseller, “The Book of Gutsy Women,” highlights women from various backgrounds who have done something extraordinary by being unapologetically themselves. Like Shannon Foley Martinez, a former white supremacist from Georgia who uses canoe trips down the Broad river to help rehabilitate women leaving hate groups. After a life in politics, Gutsy gives viewers a chance to see another side of Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. Their chemistry is organic, with Chelsea routinely teasing her mother, and they each open up about the personal obstacles they’ve had to overcome to be gusty in their own lives. In episode 4, Clinton sits with with Revered Whittney Ijanaten, a queer Black Reverend who marries couples from all walks a life. The conversation quickly turns to Clinton's own relationship, where she reveals that the gutsiest thing she ever did was decide to stay in her marriage, a choice she says isn’t right for every woman.

'I don't even have a uterus': Amy Schumer responds to claim that she is behind national tampon shortage
Comedian and actress Amy Schumer has officially responded to being "blamed" for the national tampon shortage — and yes, it is all as strange as it sounds. The hubbub started earlier this week, when Time reported on the supply-chain issue that's made America's most popular tampon brand, Tampax, by P&G, so hard to come by. In it, a P&G spokesperson was quoted as saying the brand's "retail sales growth has exploded" following the success of a campaign launched with Schumer in 2020. That's all the New York Post needed to run its headline, "Why Amy Schumer is getting blamed for the national tampon shortage," for other outlets to quickly follow — and for the comedian to weigh in on the narrative.

Amy Schumer on watching Will Smith win his Oscar after slapping Chris Rock: 'Everybody was kind of floored'
On Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen Wednesday night, Amy Schumer shared what was going through her mind following the now-infamous moment when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. Schumer was one of three hosts for this year's ceremony, where, following the slap heard and seen around the world, Smith went on to win the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in King Richard and received a standing ovation. Schumer shared, "I'll just say, I was backstage and I knew I had to go out. I was kind of the only host that was going out solo after that. It really felt like the Situation Room, you know, of comedy." Schumer continued to explain how shocked she was by the incident, as she added, "We were all just, like, watching the monitor. And then he won. Everybody was just kind of floored with the whole thing. And I was just thinking about – what am I going to do when I go out there." The following weekend, during a standup routine, Schumer stated that the incident was "upsetting" and that Smith's slap "says so much about toxic masculinity." However, in the moment, Schumer handled it like a pro, but added that the moment "really changed the air in the room."
